AWG Coat of Arms: Symbols and Meanings

The coat of arms is a powerful representation of AWG’s faith-based mission, carefully designed with biblical elements to reflect our guiding principles.

Shield Division

  • Top Left (Lion with Shield): Represents the Lion of Judah, symbolizing Christ's strength, leadership, and kingship. The lion holding a shield indicates defense and faith, as well as the steadfast protection that comes from following Christ.

  • Top Right (Red Cross): The red cross symbolizes Christ's redemption and the salvation He offers to humanity. The red background emphasizes the sacrifice and love that Christ demonstrated through His crucifixion.

  • Bottom Left (Tree of Life): The Tree of Life represents eternal life, divine wisdom, and the flourishing of spiritual growth. It is a symbol of God's eternal presence and His wisdom imparted to believers.

  • Bottom Right (Lion's Head): The lion’s head reinforces the representation of the Lion of Judah, symbolizing Christ’s divine authority, courage, and the leadership He provides.

Central Elements

  • Central Cross: The cross at the center of the shield emphasizes the heart of AWG's mission — to follow Christ and uphold Christian values in all endeavors. The cross is surrounded by small golden symbols of faith, showing the unity between belief and action.

  • Decorative Elements: The red and gold mantling represents nobility, sacrifice, and divine glory. The intricate designs surrounding the shield signify protection, grace, and the importance of maintaining faith in all aspects of life.

Crest and Decorations

  • Crown: The crown placed above the shield represents God’s sovereignty and Christ’s eternal kingship over all creation. It emphasizes AWG’s dedication to serving under divine guidance.

  • Lions as Supporters: Flanking the shield are two lions, which also represent the Lion of Judah. These lions symbolize divine protection, power, and righteousness. They are depicted with strength and grace, ready to defend the faith and values that AWG upholds.

  • Hebrew and Greek Symbols: These biblical languages serve as a reminder of AWG’s foundation in scripture and emphasize the importance of understanding and following God’s word in its original form.
